Board Elections

Board Term 2026/27 - 2027/28

Voting:

  • The ABA Candidate presentations and electronic voting (approved by the MoE) will commence on May 4th, 2026 at 1 p.m. and continue until May 8th, 2026 at 1 p.m. 
  • The link to access voting will be sent to the ABA Community on May 4th 2026.
  • Details about the election process and voting platform will be shared in due course. 
  • Please ensure that the school has your correct email address and personal information and you have met all your obligations to the school.
  • The successful candidates will be announced after Ministry approvals are received. 

 

Nomination Eligibility Criteria:

There will be 3 positions open on the ABA Board of Directors for the board term 2026/27 - 2027/28.

Nomination forms filled by members of the ABA Association should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a member of the ABA Association, and only one member per family is eligible to stand for Board elections.
  • Be a parent or legal guardian of a child currently enrolled in ABA for the duration of their term.
  • Hold a university degree (BA/BS) or the equivalent thereof as per Ministry of Education requirements.
  • Be in good financial standing with the school: having no outstanding payments to ABA.
  • Be willing to serve a full 2 year term.
  • Not be an employee of the School, an employee spouse, or a first-degree relative of an employee.
  • Not be a first-degree relative of a current Board Director.
  • Not hold a diplomatic passport in adherence to the current laws of the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Have no prior disqualification from holding any Board office. 
  • Have no association with any other school that may demonstrate a conflict of interest.
  • Have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a School Board.
