Full Name: Al Muthir Al Kharusi
Nationality: Omani
Current Position: Senior Advisor of the Group CEO, OQ
Previous Work Experience:
1. OQ - Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer
2. Cairn India - President, Rajasthan Oil

Al Muthir Al Kharusi believes that a school’s culture, the way children develop relationships, their sense of belonging, and their motivation, shapes students far more deeply than the facilities the school has. He is standing for the school board because he knows what this looks like and wants to contribute meaningfully to creating an environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to learn and grow. Al Muthir is committed to championing a school environment that puts students’ wellbeing at its heart. He wants teachers to feel supported, families to feel heard, and children to feel that school is a place they are excited to be in.
Professionally, Al Muthir has spent over 30 years leading organizations through change, and what he has learned is that transformation is never really about systems or structures, it is about people. At OQ Group, he led a cultural turnaround that changed how an entire organization thought, worked, and treated each other. He has served on the boards of major energy companies, providing governance that has created strong working environments across two countries, and has been recognized for his ability to bring people together around a shared purpose. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Glamorgan and has completed leadership programs at INSEAD.
Motivation to join the ABA Board:
"I am seeking a board position at ABA because I believe in its mission to provide a holistic education that prepares students academically, personally, and socially. As a parent, I am invested in the school’s growth and success and would make every effort to contribute positively to its future. Improving academic outcomes is one of my priorities, as I believe students have only floors and no ceilings, and can achieve more when the right learning environment is created for them. I also believe this can be supported through maintaining high teaching standards, data-informed decision-making, and timely support for students when needed. I am passionate about fostering a culture of learning where curiosity, effort, and empowerment are encouraged, and where children feel safe and motivated to come to school.
I also believe extracurricular activities are essential to a well-rounded education, particularly in building discipline, teamwork, and student morale, and I would support efforts to strengthen these opportunities and ensure broad participation. Student wellbeing is equally important, as academic success is most sustainable when students feel safe, supported, and heard. I advocate for initiatives that promote mental health, inclusivity, and a positive, safe school environment where bullying is not tolerated. Through my professional experience and commitment as a parent, I hope to bring a thoughtful, strategic perspective to the Board and contribute to ABA’s continued excellence for the benefit of students, teachers, and the wider school community."

Full Name: Jamie Hoyzer
Nationality: German
Current Position: CEO, Siemens
Previous Work Experience:
1. Siemens, UAE
2. Siemens, Germany
Child currently enrolled at ABA: Grade 6
Jamie Hoyzer is a seasoned executive and currently serves as CEO of Siemens in Oman, bringing over two decades of international experience across Germany, the UAE, and Oman, including 17 years in the Middle East. With a strong background in leadership, strategy, finance, and operations, he has built his career in multicultural environments. His collaborative approach, working across diverse stakeholders and cultures, reflects his belief in partnership, open dialogue, and shared responsibility.
As a parent at ABA, Jamie is closely engaged in the educational journey and values the IB philosophy of fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and global citizenship. As part of a multicultural family, he believes in a school community where every background is respected and every voice is heard. He also brings prior experience in international school governance through his role on the Local Advisory Board of a GEMS school in the UAE, which provided insight into strategic oversight, accountability, and supporting a strong and sustainable school community.
Jamie is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and transparent school environment, where collaboration between parents, educators, and leadership ensures the best outcomes for students.
Motivation to join the ABA Board:
"As a parent at ABA and CEO of Siemens in Oman, with 17 years of living and working in the Middle East, I believe I can create a positive impact by serving on the Board of Directors. My career has been built across multicultural environments, and as part of a multicultural family, I understand first-hand the importance of communities where every background is respected and every voice is heard. My previous role on the Local Advisory Board of a GEMS school in the UAE has given me direct experience in international school governance, strategic oversight, and the responsibilities that come with shaping a strong and sustainable school community. I bring a solid foundation in leadership, strategy, finance, problem-solving, and decision-making, combined with a genuine commitment to the people and communities I serve.
I care deeply about the health of our school community. Like many of you, I recognise that there are moments when navigating our community can feel challenging, and that not everyone always feels as comfortable or as heard as they should. I believe it is essential to foster open, constructive dialogue, while also ensuring that clear and transparent processes are in place. When families understand how decisions are made, how concerns are addressed, and how the school holds itself accountable, trust follows. Every parent, student, and staff member deserves to feel respected, supported, and genuinely welcome at ABA - and I would work to make that a lived reality. A school thrives when its community thrives. I am committed to being a steady and unifying voice on the Board - one that listens carefully, acts thoughtfully, and always keeps students at the centre of every decision."

Zara moved to Oman with her family in 2024 and has two daughters studying at ABA in the Elementary School. Motivation to join the ABA Board:
"I am standing for election to the ABA Board of Directors because I believe I can make a meaningful contribution to the school’s mission of diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability. As a parent of two ABA students, I have a strong personal stake in ensuring the school is supported through strong governance and continues to provide a values-driven, nurturing community for all students.
ABA’s identity as a not-for-profit school is particularly compelling to me. The principle that all of the schools’ resources should be fully reinvested in the students and their education, aligns closely with my own beliefs. As an alumna of Karachi Grammar School, a not-for-profit school established by the Church of England in 1847, I can personally attest to the value and success of such a model. Throughout my professional career, I have been involved in infrastructure development and climate financing for emerging markets. This experience has shaped a perspective grounded in sustainability, accountability, and long-term impact, principles essential for effective governance. My husband and I actively promote critical thinking and constructive disagreement in our family. These values foster openness of mind and dialogue in all aspects of our own lives and in how we engage with the community. I believe that my values align strongly with ABA’s mission and vision. If given the opportunity to serve, I would bring a collaborative mindset, a strong sense of responsibility, and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of ABA’s students and community."
