ABA Oman hosts GCD Up 2026

ABA is part of the Global Citizen Diploma Consortium, becoming the first school in the Middle East authorized to offer the GCD. This milestone reflects ABA’s commitment to recognizing and nurturing student growth beyond traditional academic achievement.
The GCD Consortium connects students worldwide, fostering collaboration, cultural exchange, and social impact. Through this international network, the Global Citizen Diploma framework empowers students to reflect with purpose, understand their values, and celebrate their personal growth.
"Our vision is to empower students to grow in confidence and be recognised for who they truly are. The Global Citizen Diploma aligns seamlessly with our mission to foster intercultural understanding, inclusion, and global citizenship. The educational value of this experience cannot be overstated. Our students experienced a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for diverse perspectives, which are essential qualities for success in today’s interconnected world." - Mr Simon Walker, Assistant Head of School and High School Principal
Established in 2011 at Yokohama International School, the GCD awarded its first diplomas in 2013 and has since expanded to a global consortium, including ABA Oman International School (Muscat), ACS International School (UK), American School of Antananarivo (Madagascar), Escola Concept (Brazil), Hong Kong Academy (China), International School of Uganda (Kampala), Kambala (Sydney, Australia), Le Jardin Academy (Hawaii, USA), Nanjing International School (China), NIST International School (Bangkok, Thailand), and Yokohama International School (Japan).
