Foreign Language Programme
Interested in learning a new language? Join ABA's Foreign Language Programme.
What is it?
The Foreign Language refers to a new language a child can acquire. This programme encourages all students, especially those who have English as a mother language to acquire a new language. Students would need to have no prior/very little knowledge of the language chosen to be eligible to enroll in the FLP program.
How is it done?
ABA Lingo supports a Foreign Language Program which runs as a paid extracurricular activity for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
1-2 sessions per week with 2 possible time slots: 1:25pm- 2:20pm, 2:35pm-3:30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Our fun and interactive lessons focus on reading, writing, listening, speaking and culture as well as literature in the Foreign Language. Learning is through songs, stories, games, drama and play.
All classes are taught by qualified teachers (and when possible native speakers).

Why is learning a new language important?
"Those who begin learning an additional language at a young age are more likely to have a native like proficiency of the language" - Lightbown and Spada (2006)
Learning a second language has many benefits for kids in terms of enhanced communication skills, cognitive growth, and cultural understanding. Starting your child on the road to learning a second language is never too soon, so why not give it a go!
According to research, bilingual children may benefit academically and socially compared to monolingual kids. All children have a natural capacity to learn new languages under the right conditions. Come and observe natural language learning in action at one of our classes!
