Here are the community members who came forward to be part of the Booster Club Executive team for 2021/22 School Year.  The Election Committee has met and has accepted the following nominations.  Due to the number of nominees for the open positions, the positions will be automatically assigned for the 2021/2022 school year.

I have been supporting BC since 2017 and enjoyed being part of our school community. I have been happily acting as chairperson and always ready to give and receive feedback from others. I do believe that respect brings success to a team.

VICE CHAIR

CHARIS COTTON

I enjoy being part of the school community and building school spirit. I work well in groups, am open minded and responsible, react well under pressure and am comfortable helping plan and organize events.

As the current treasurer of VBC, I like to think I already have experience on what is needed. I have over 10 years experience as Treasurer at the MRFC / Pirates Rugby Club (both committees). Next year is my last year at ABA, and I'd like to give back for one last year.

After joining ABA last year, I was really impressed by the support and team spirit the Booster Club brings to ABA. As a recent addition to the team as club Secretary I would like to continue to support this great initiative on behalf of all ABA kids, teachers and parents.

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

To me, the BC is more than “just” supporting the Vipers, it’s about creating community and bringing people together. I joined the BC in 2019 and enjoy the spirit and enthusiasm of the team. I would love to be able to continue to play my part in sharing the Vipers Vibe!

Roles

Those in blue are voted-in positions while those in yellow are appointed.

CHAIR

Preside at all meetings of the Booster Club including executive board meetings and general meetings.

Represent and speak for the Booster Club at school meetings and functions.

Ensure that all executive committee members and standing committee chairpersons are fulfilling their job responsibilities.

Act as a liaison between the VBC, AD, and ABA Senior Management.

 

VICE-CHAIR

In the absence of the Chairperson/s, perform and exercise the duties of the Chairperson/s.

Attend all VBC Executive Committee meetings and General Meetings.

Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Chairperson.

TREASURER

Work in conjunction with the ABA Business Office to record all transactions of the VBC according to ABA Business Office Guidelines

Shall ensure that all funds raised is counted by a minimum of (two) 2 Executive Committee members, and thereafter deposited to the ABA Business Office within twenty-four (24) hours of the first business day after the event.

Shall ensure that all disbursements are based on the relevant receipts and approval requests from the Chair, supporting the decision-making process.

Shall maintain accurate records of all receipts, expenditures and financial activities of the VBC, including detailed accounts of individual events.

SECRETARY

 Record, distribute minutes of all proceedings for the VBC

Abridged, concise minutes of meetings are to be published on the VBC section of the ABA website.

Keep an accurate record of all proceedings of the VBC, including Executive Committee meetings, general meetings, any other meetings, the attendance register, and calendar of meetings and events.

Distribute meeting reminders, agendas and minutes of meetings to the Executive Committee, standing committee chairpersons and AD in a timely manner.

 

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Provide timely and accurate information to the ABA Community and VBC Members on all activities and events associated with the VBC.

Communicate with the ABA Marketing and Communications Director where necessary.

Provide weekly / monthly communications in a timely manner for the ABA website and social media pages (all to be approved by the AD)

Oversee all publicity, posters, banners, signage, information brochures, and any other communications documents including the removal of any promotional materials, in accordance with, and under the direction of the Chairperson/s.

MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR

Coordinate the Spirit Merchandise, which includes:

  • Manage Budget approved for procurement
  • Organise the design, ordering and delivery of all merchandise, including the Hoodies, and their distribution.
  • Manage all sales records and inventory stock counts and records.
  • Monitor set up and pack down of Pop Up shops
  • Keep the store room neat
  • Work closely with the Communications Coordinator with regards to communications of the event.

 Work closely with the Treasurer with regards to the expenditure, payment for the vendors, and depositing of funds raised, and stock control.

Work closely with the AD with regards to student staffing, calendar and timings for each Pop Up Shop.

FUNDRAISING/EVENTS COORDINATOR

Coordinate the Fundraising events, which includes:

  • Monitor set up and pack down
  • Organise and purchase all necessary items

Work closely with the Communications Coordinator with regards to communications of the event.

Work closely with the Treasurer with regards to the expenditure, payment for the vendors, and depositing of funds raised.

 Work closely with the AD with regards to student staffing, calendar and timings for each event.

 

BBQ/Coaches ROOm coordinator

Coordinate BBQ’s and Coaches Room, which includes:

  • Ordering requirements
  • Monitoring stocks
  • Arranging ABA community staffing
  • Schedule volunteer timings
  •  Prepare stock take and ordering list
  • Ensure advance payment for outside vendors
  • Monitor set up and pack down
  • Ensure BBQ’s cleaned and gas refilled
  • Ensure facilities and items are cleaned and returned to their normal state
  • Ensure the necessary Fire Safety Equipment is ready and available at each event.

 Work closely with the Communications Coordinator with regards to the communications of the event

Work closely with the Treasurer with regards to the expenditure, payment for the vendors, and depositing of funds raised

Work closely with the AD with regards to student staffing, calendar and timings for each season.

 

Concessions COORDINATOR

Coordinate Food and Beverage Concessions stands, which includes:

  • Ordering requirements
  • Monitoring stocks and distribution over all stands
  • Schedule volunteer timings
  •  Prepare stock take and ordering list.
  • Ensure advance payment for outside vendors.
  •  Monitor set up and pack down
  •  Ensure facilities and items are cleaned and returned to their normal state
  • Arrange pick up / drop off of all food donations for off campus events
  •  Maintain a detailed list of items borrowed from ABA Community

Work closely with the Communications Coordinator with regards to communications of the event.

Work closely with the Treasurer with regards to expenditure, payments for vendors, and depositing of funds raised.

Work closely with the AD with regards to student staffing, calendar and timings for each season.
