CIMA Certification

 

CIMA stands for “Certificat International de Maîtrise en Arabe”, or International Certificate for Proficiency in Arabic.

CIMA is the first worldwide certification of proficiency in Arabic, created by The Institut du Monde Arabe ( Arab World Institute) in France. CIMA is evaluating and assessing Modern Standard Arabic, the language spoken in all Arabic-speaking nations.

All interested parties over 15 who are at any level of the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 in Modern Standard Arabic are  the target audience for the CIMA.

-Levels  evaluated: CIMA evaluates the four fundamental abilities of speaking, writing, listening comprehension, and reading comprehension.
-A certificate is given to applicants upon completion of the exam, valid for 3 years.
